Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities stated they were alerted by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then found many other smeared cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the liquid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for details.

A senior political figure commented the attack rendered him stunned and required to be addressed quickly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
